4-Week Mindful Journalling Online Course

20th Jan - 10th Feb 2022
Every Thursday, 7pm - 8.30pm (GMT)

Led by:
Ethan Pollock
Online via Zoom (pre-course guidance available)

A fun and relaxed evening of mindfulness and journalling. We will begin each session with a short guided meditation, then use exercises involving; free writing techniques, prompts, memory and direct experience to explore creative writing, personal reflection and writing to resolve conflicts. There will also be a chance to share your writing with others if you choose.

We will explore some of the common obstacles we might face to our creativity and see how mindfulness can help free us from over-thinking or self-criticism. Discover how an attitude of self-compassion, openness and awareness turns writing into an intimate exploration of the world and a creative sharing of our experience.

This course is suitable for all levels of experience.

We will keep the group between 6-9 participants to allow for an intimate space where everyone has the opportunity to be heard.

  • Practice short guided meditations

  • Learn to pause and find a moment of stillness

  • Practice creative writing exercises and learn how to continue this outside the course

  • Motivate yourself with kindness rather than criticism

  • Better understand your inner critic and help make room for the inner artist

  • Discover the immediacy of the present moment through writing and use writing for a deeper experience of the present moment

  • Learn to use writing as a method of personal reflection and conflict resolution

  • Share your work in a supportive and non-judgemental space

  • And rediscover the joy of keeping a journal!

Class activities include guided meditations, writing exercises, group discussions and the option to share your writing with others.

We'll be using the platform zoom. Ethan is an experienced online teacher and we have found that this form offers a beautiful chance for people to connect deeply with the practices and group, but with all the comforts of home. Online we offer the same practices, exercises, and small group work just as you would find on our in-person courses.
